About LBCC

The LBCC was originally formed in the mid to late '80s, but sadly died out about 5 or 6 years after it was formed. In May 2004 two current Cambridge University Cycling Club (CUCC) members, Jon Ellis and Bart Hallmark, set about reinstating it. The aim of the club is to provide a vehicle through which past members of CUCC, regardless of matriculation year, can stay in contact. With the advent of cheap and effective electronic communication, it is envisaged that this should now be a lot easier than it used to be!

The current remit of the LBCC is to:

It is the intention that there will be around two or three trips away per year organised by LBCC for both mountain bikers and road riders alike. Details of each of these events will be available about 4 or 5 months before they take place to facilitate planning. It is additionally hoped that links between CUCCC and LBCC can be maintained and that CUCC members will be able to join us on some of these trips. In addition, it is proposed that there be at least one black tie reunion dinner in Cambridge each year with the possibility of organising some cycling-related events around it.

In order for this to occur, there will be two people running the LBCC at any one time; one general secretary and one webmaster. These posts will be subject to re-election each year by email vote.
